INTRODUCED : 2014 FUNCTIONAL ART | SCULPTURE, DINNERWARE & SERVE-WARE | Each ceramic bowl is hand crafted. Rolled out with a slab roller or large rolling pin, clay is then draped, molded, ripped and left to dry until leather hard. It is then deeply carved, sanded and burnished to refine each piece further and achieve a look of delicateness and fragility. The holes, initially accidental as a result of carving the clay too thin in some areas, are now a defining feature on many pieces. Each piece is fully dipped or hand painted with several coats of creamy white gloss and/or matte glaze. Inspired by tattered antique linens, remnants and organic forms, they exhibit a juxtaposing of contrasting elements... soft and fragile in appearance, but durable ceramic on closer examination.
Medium-small bowls are a unique addition to any table when used for salad, soup, or dessert. Medium-large bowls are perfect for serving vegetables, fruit, salads, etc. Extra-large bowls are not only sculptural statement pieces but also work well when used as large serving dishes. No two pieces are alike.
Coordinating wine buckets and holders are also available upon request.
Food safe. Sold separately and in special order sets of coordinating shape. Medium-small (white gloss) and medium-large bowls are sold with or without holes depending on usage and preference and can be ordered deep or shallow. (Medium-Large bowls are also available with a pale pink gloss interior).

INTRODUCED : 2014-2015 FUNCTIONAL ART | SCULPTURE, DINNERWARE & SERVE-WARE | Each deep ceramic bowl is just a much deeper version of the original hand-crafted and carved Paradigm bowls. Rolled, draped, molded, ripped and left to dry until leather hard. It is then deeply carved, sanded and burnished to refine each piece further and achieve a look of delicateness and fragility. Each piece is fully dipped or hand painted with several coats of creamy white gloss and/or matte glaze or a combination of white and hand-painted colored glazes. No two pieces are alike. Scale, shape and proportion vary.
Food safe. Sold separately and in special order sets of coordinating shape. Medium-small (white gloss) and medium-large bowls are sold with or without holes depending on usage. Sizes are similar to the original Paradigm bowls, just deeper.
FIRST INTRODUCED : 2016 FUNCTIONAL ART | SCULPTURE, DINNERWARE & SERVE-WARE | Each ceramic bowl is hand crafted. Rolled, draped, molded, ripped and left to dry until leather hard. It is then deeply carved, sanded and burnished to refine each piece further and achieve a look of delicateness and fragility. Large bowls are available with either exterior or interior in a unique hand painted glaze. Medium-small bowls are hand-painted and available in solid pastel colors with matt glaze exteriors and gloss interiors. No two pieces are alike. Special Order.
INTRODUCED : 2016 These vessels serve as fragile and haunting reminders of something that once existed. Each sculpture is hand painted with four coats of a creamy white matt glaze and woven with hand twisted wire. Items range in size from 6 to 20" in diameter. Larger vessels are by special order and can also be ordered without wiring as a deep Paradigm bowl.
INTRODUCED : 2015 FUNCTIONAL ART | SCULPTURE, DINNERWARE & SERVE-WARE | Each ceramic piece is hand formed to create a delicate irregular form, a remnant. They serve as components meant to be layered with other pieces in this collection and the more sculptural paradigm collection, each piece being unique. Bowls and egg cup vases have a creamy white gloss interior with white matte exterior. Exterior glazes in matte gold or mottled antiqued terra cotta are available by special order. Plates are hand painted and hand wash only.
INTRODUCED : 2015 FUNCTIONAL ART | SCULPTURE | The figure has always played prominently in the artist's work. Combining form and function, vessels are coil-built in white earthenware. Interiors are fully glazed while exteriors are for the most part left unglazed with only the bottom portion dipped in a white gloss glaze. The ceramic heads double as stoppers and are sculpted, painted with underglaze, bisque fired, stained and coated with encaustic wax. Displayed alone, they serve as both vessel and sculpture. In groups, they represent a tribe. Each simplistic form is slightly imperfect like the figures they represent. No two pieces are alike. 18-26" tall or by Special Order. Animal heads are by Special Order only.

INTRODUCED : 2015 Part of a limited edition and inspired by Hurricane Katrina's aftermath and the city's transformation since, these pieces appear as fragile yet haunting remnants: slightly scarred, somewhat neglected, imperfect... memories of something past, something now transformed into an object of beauty and strength. Each is unique.
